Counter Balance, together with eight other organisations, sent a letter to the EIB Group raising concerns about its participation in the conference “Future Grid & AI Data Centres Europe 2026”.
The signatory organisations highlighted the lack of participation from civil society, citizens or workers’ representatives, and about the conference being indirectly sponsored by fossil fuel companies.
Direct access to high-level decision-makers should not be the privilege of private actors, sponsoring closed-door corporate events.
