Counter Balance is looking for a Director!
We are looking for a director to lead and empower our secretariat and network. This is a permanent position for a committed leader who can drive the long-term vision of Counter Balance and provides strategic leadership to increase our political and advocacy impact, and support and inspire staff, members of the network and external partners across to have a strong collective impact.
ABOUT COUNTER BALANCE
We are a European coalition of development and environmental NGOs dedicated to holding public banks accountable. With extensive experience scrutinising the European Investment Bank (EIB), export credit agencies, and development finance, we work to prevent harmful impacts from large infrastructure projects.
Our mission: to ensure European public finance drives a just transition toward sustainable and equitable societies.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for leading the Counter Balance Secretariat and the work of the coalition, with a particular focus on increasing impact, providing strategic guidance to Counter Balance’s communications, advocacy and campaign work, and representing Counter Balance towards decision-makers, funders and other stakeholders.
A successful candidate has the ability to reinforce the long-term vision of Counter Balance, empowers the staff of the Secretariat to perform highly, and provides strategic leadership on policy, network and organisational development that inspires externally and internally.
